We’re back for another year, and we’re turning up the intensity! The Second Annual Sankofa Walk Club is here, offering a unique opportunity for those who are ready to push their limits, build endurance, and challenge themselves in a whole new way.

This structured 8-week program is designed to take you beyond casual walking. If you have a warrior’s spirit, expect to develop powerful strides, strategic pacing, and a focus on performance. As the weeks progress, we’ll build speed and stamina, culminating to our 10K (6.2-mile) final walk—a true test of endurance, discipline, and commitment.​​​

Who is this Walk Club For?​

If you’re someone who thrives on structure, enjoys pushing your limits, and wants to take your walking to the next level, then this program is for you. Whether you’re a former athlete looking to maintain your fitness or someone eager to develop endurance, you’ll find the Sankofa Walk Club to be a challenging yet rewarding experience.​

To ensure you’re set up for success, we ask that ALL participants have a base level of walking ability before joining. Participants should be able to:

​​

  • Walk briskly for 2-3 miles at one time at the start of the program. 

  • You don’t need to walk fast the entire way, but you should be comfortable covering this distance without strain.

Why is Conditioning Important for Walkers?

Conditioning is a critical component of the Sankofa Walk Club because it builds the strength, stamina, and resilience needed to walk longer distances efficiently and powerfully. This program isn’t just about walking—it’s about walking with purpose, endurance, and performance in mind.

  • Boosts Endurance – Strengthens muscles to help you walk farther with less fatigue.

  • Enhances Power & Speed – Improves stride efficiency and walking mechanics.

Our weekly 45-minute conditioning session is designed to complement your walking routine by focusing on dynamic movements, core engagement, and lower-body strength. These sessions ensure you’re not just walking the distance—but walking it stronger, smarter, and with better form for our final 10K.

What are the Club Dates?

The Sankofa Walk Club runs from April 17, 2025 - June 12, 2025, with the closing Sankofa 10k on June 14, 2025. Below are the weekly sessions that are offered both In-Person and Virtually:

  • Weekly Walk: Thursdays 6:30PM - 7:15PM

  • Conditioning Sessions: Fridays 6:30PM - 7:15PM
